The Reggaejam Festival in Bersenbrueck (North Germany) is one of the most recommendable music festivals to go to once you are into Caribbean music, especially Reggae. Year by year more people start to appreciate the festival as the place to go to have a great time around people of the Reggae music community. Spectacular concerts combined with a true festival vibe and a lot of freedom create the perfect atmosphere to have a good time. This festival takes place (for a lot of people) even for more than just the official three days. DJ MIKA performed several years ago in a literal marathon of great music, which was well respected, this music selection was recorded years later in 2010 in tribute to this amazing time. Pick up some deep Reggae vibes, some jumpy Ska beats, that keep you hyped, and some nice Hip Hop in Reggae remixes by the end. Tracks by Tooth & the Maytals, Sizzla, Etana, Chronixx, Protoje, and Capleton. The Session was both times happening at the campsite of the Gambia Family Tent, led by Antou (the head of the Gambian community), a big supporter of DJ MIKA since the “Mash up the Place Event Series” in Oldenburg, North Germany which they launched together in 2008.

The party series “Caribbean Wine” started a few years before this recording, bringing Soca fans from Europe together to celebrate the powerful sounds of the Caribbean. The location was several clubs in Brunswick, Germany, where Soca music was blazing for the very first time. The events were more than memorable, featuring DJ MIKA for a whole night long first and later bringing in other DJs like Threeks Sound or the Soca Twins in a combination. This is the warm-up selection where everybody just arrived and was happy to be welcomed with vibes from Trinidad and Tobago, St. Lucia, Aruba, St. Vincent, Barbados, Jamaica, USA, and the United Kingdom. Usually, the Spanish Ibiza is a vibrant party island with craziest events for electronic music, visited by tourists from all around the world to catch that vibe. But just imagine a pine forest deep in the mountains of the Mediterranean island, where a group of people years ago decided to start to grow aloes and transformed the land into a beautiful ecologic farm, which they call LA CASITA VERDE. Visitors to the island are invited to join the group each Sunday, enjoying fresh food and the beautiful scenery. DJ MIKA became a very special guest and got the chance to record her mix “Timeless Precious Pure” exactly in this place fitting the scenery: a smooth vintage Reggae selection with artists like Cornel Campbell, Alton Ellis, Berres Hammond, Doreen Shaffer, Johnny Osbourne, and Randy Valentine.
